BASF and Carlisle SynTec Collaborate To Provide a Performance Roofing System

Wyandotte, MI June 21, 2011

BASF announced today a partnership with Carlisle SynTec to jointly market a high-performance roof. This roof would utilize Carlisle’s Sure-White™ EPDM FleeceBACK™ single-ply membrane with BASF’s polyurethane insulating technology.

This unique roofing systems helps to provide durability, sustainability and energy efficiency; all while delivering superior performance for wind uplift resistance and waterproofing. With this particular roofing system it also enables warranties to be issued for 10 to 30 years. The roofing components work together to create a seamless blanket of insulation that blocks out air and water while eliminating thermal bridging.

The system requires combining both Spray Polyurethane Foam (one of the best insulators in the commercial roofing market) with FleeceBACK EPDM and FAST® Adhesive. Both theFleeceBACK EPDM and FAST® Adhesive  are considered to be one of the most ultimate fully adhered commercial roofing systems available today. As stated by Ron Goodman, Carlisle’s FleeceBACK product manager.

“The composite system is extremely robust, offering industry-leading puncture, hail and wind uplift resistance.”

As the market leader in spray polyurethane foam insulation, we are looking forward to working with Carlisle SynTec to offer building solutions that advance roofing systems,” said Michael Sievers, business manager of Spray Systems, BASF.

“The combined roofing system will deliver a new sustainable advantage for the builder and facility manager as well as dramatically change the performance measures in roofing systems.”
